HLS requires an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch with Safari on iOS 7.0 or later, a Mac with Safari 6.0.5 or later on OS X v10.8.5 or later, or a PC with Microsoft Edge on Windows 10. "Requirements: Live streaming uses Apple’s HTTP Live Streaming (HLS) technology.
Here are the requirements in Apple’s own words from their website. Apple will block many people from watching the keynote in real time because the majority of the world is using Android phones, Windows 8.1, 8.0 or 7 or Linux who will have to wait for Apple to get around to posting the video of the keynote online.
